MAHABALIPURAM SHORE TEMPLE AT DUSK — ORIGINAL IMPRESSIONIST CANVAS PAINTING
On this composition
A painting, before the light.
The Shore Temple at Mahabalipuram at the close of day. Its two pyramidal granite spires rise from a low rock platform where the beach meets the Bay of Bengal; figures walk across the pale wet sand in the foreground, their reflections stretched in the shallow water. The sky is a soft drift of pink, lavender and cream, the sea a cool blue at the right. Sandhya Kaushik keeps this one airy and low in contrast, the sand laid in long horizontal scrapes, the temple a pale silhouette against the dusk.
The wide beach and quiet light make it the calmest, most spacious view in this group. It suits a bedroom, a living room, or a coastal home where soft light and sea air are wanted.
