PREM MANDIR VRINDAVAN AT DUSK — ORIGINAL IMPRESSIONIST CANVAS PAINTING
On this composition
A painting, before the light.
Prem Mandir, the great carved temple on the edge of Vrindavan, caught as the evening sun warms its stone. The whole many-tiered structure, central shikhara, side domes and rows of arched galleries, is lit in honey gold and amber against a soft coral and peach sky. Silhouetted visitors gather across the open forecourt, and at lower right a small family with two children walks toward the steps. Sandhya Kaushik renders the carving in confident palette-knife ridges of gold, orange and brown, letting the knife catch the light along every cornice, while the dark foreground is broken with teal and slate strokes of wet ground.
The glowing stone against the cooling sky gives a serene, devotional grandeur. It suits a living-room feature wall, a prayer room, or a wide space above a console.
