PUSHKAR LAKE WHITE GHATS — ORIGINAL IMPRESSIONIST CANVAS PAINTING
On this composition
A painting, before the light.
Pushkar's sacred lake in Rajasthan, seen as a sweeping curve of pale stepped ghats that wrap almost all the way around the water. A cluster of gilded temple spires rises at the far right, while desert hills in dusty ochre close the horizon under a warm sunset sky. In the foreground pilgrims in red, blue and yellow saris sit at the waterline with floating offerings, and bright umbrellas crowd the near steps. Sandhya Kaushik keeps the ghats in cool cream and chalk-white palette-knife planes, then lets the saris and umbrellas burn against them in pure colour, the lake a soft slate mirror.
The wide curve and clean white stone give it an open, airy feel with Rajasthani warmth. It suits a living room, a stair landing, or a bright dining wall.
