RADHA KRISHNA ON THE JHULA SWING — ORIGINAL IMPRESSIONIST CANVAS PAINTING
On this composition
A painting, before the light.
A temple interior in Vrindavan during a hindola, the swing festival of Krishna. Radha and Krishna are seated on an ornate gilded jhula hung with marigold and rose garlands beneath a flowered canopy; petals lie scattered across the floor and brass diyas burn on tall stands. A devotee couple sits at the right in the warm dark, more figures gathered in a doorway beyond. Sandhya Kaushik keeps the carved wooden pillars in deep umber and the swing in bright gold, the marigolds and lamplight glowing against the shadow.
The gold, flowers and lamplight give it a tender, devotional warmth tied to Krishna's Braj. It suits a pooja room, an entry, or a living-room wall among warm furnishings.
