The formal approach, with the channel carrying the building straight down the middle of the canvas and the cypresses closing it on both sides. Sandhya Kaushik puts a monsoon sky behind the dome — pewter and violet knifed on heavily — so the marble reads cool rather than golden, and lets the wet paving take reflected light back up toward the viewer.
