VAISHNO DEVI MOUNTAIN TRAIL — ORIGINAL IMPRESSIONIST CANVAS PAINTING
On this composition
A painting, before the light.
The mountain approach to Vaishno Devi in the Trikuta hills, painted from below. A pale ochre trail zigzags up sheer blue-grey rock toward the cave shrine near the summit, prayer flags strung across the gorge; pilgrims, ponies and a few riders climb the switchbacks. Swirling cloud presses against the cliffs above. Sandhya Kaushik works the rock face in swept palette-knife strokes of slate, olive and silver, then warms the winding path and the small figures in ochre and rust so the route reads clearly up the mountain.
The climbing trail and the weather give the piece real movement and height. The vertical format suits a stairwell, a hallway, or a narrow wall between windows.
