VISHRAM GHAT MATHURA TEMPLES — ORIGINAL IMPRESSIONIST CANVAS PAINTING
On this composition
A painting, before the light.
Vishram Ghat in Mathura, the heart of Krishna's Braj, on the bank of the Yamuna. A cluster of temple shikharas rises across the frame, several tipped with gold-leaf domes that catch the sun; terracotta and ochre temple walls run down to broad steps where pilgrims in white and saffron gather under red and green umbrellas. Boats sit on the calm river at right under a warm sky. Sandhya Kaushik picks out the gilded domes in bright gold and amber against the deeper terracotta masonry, the whole built in firm palette-knife planes with figures dabbed in clean colour.
The gold and warmth give it a devotional, celebratory feel tied to Krishna's birthplace. It suits a pooja room, an entry, or a living-room wall with warm furnishings.
