AMBER FORT ARCHES OVER MAOTA LAKE — PANORAMIC ORIGINAL CANVAS PAINTING
On this composition
A painting, before the light.
The view out from a carved pavilion of Amber Fort, framed by five scalloped Mughal arches in gold-ochre sandstone. Above runs a richly worked coffered ceiling; below stretches a patterned stone floor. Through the arches the land opens wide: the pale blue water of Maota Lake to the left, a fortified wall winding up the bare hills with tiny figures on the path, and the silhouettes of distant hilltop forts on the right. Sandhya Kaushik paints the columns and arches in thick sandstone and amber ridges, then keeps the far landscape in softer, thinner strokes so the depth pulls back through the openings into a warm peach-gold sky.
The framing arches give a real sense of standing inside the palace looking out. The long format suits a wide living-room wall, a dining room, or a space above a low console.
